A Short History of HeliCo

At HeliCo, we always set goals for ourselves and we are happy to achieve these goals step by step. In the adventure that we started in 2009, we constantly improve ourselves and bring our customers together with much higher quality services.



In this article, we want to present you with a short history of HeliCo and the important steps that we have taken.


  • 2009 - We entered the translation and localization market and started to provide services for various Turkish and foreign companies, universities, and government institutions.

  • 2011 - We started to offer simultaneous interpretation and simultaneous interpretation equipment. Additionally, we have increased the number of our customers to whom we provide simultaneous interpretation services in English, German, French, Russian, and Turkish.

  • 2014 - We realized our first big project, the Amazon project, with 92 people at the same time. In this project, we provided services in English-Turkish and German-Turkish language pairs. Thus, we completed one of the important projects in the history of HeliCo Translation, in which most translators were involved at the same time.

  • Between 2009 and 2015, our team was only offering services in English, German, and Turkish languages in specific fields. But we increased the number of languages ​​we serve to 12. These languages ​​included English, German, and Turkish, as well as Spanish, French, Italian, Arabic, Persian, Russian, Greek, Azerbaijani, and Georgian.

  • 2017 - We have increased the number of language pairs we serve to 36 and we have started to offer many services in accordance with the ISO 17100 standard in all languages ​​currently on our website and in all areas of expertise on our website.


Toward the end of this year, we evaluated all the translators we worked with, made eliminations, and carried out studies on team development. In addition, 2017 was a year in which we clarified the cornerstones of the quality standards that we have adopted at HeliCo.

We have also obtained ISO 17100 certification this year.


  • 2018 - For the first time, we offered simultaneous interpretation service (RSI) for another country. Since then, we have provided simultaneous interpretation equipment and simultaneous interpreters in countries such as Georgia, Italy, and the United Arab Emirates.

  • 2019 - In order to serve you better, we started to consider certain procedures while selecting our translators. We clarified the criteria that we should pay attention to when choosing our translators and the steps that we take. Our implementation steps in line with the determined criteria enabled us to improve the quality of our services.


In addition to all of these, 2019 was a year when we created our translator team, which we are sure will provide quality service in different languages ​​and fields of expertise. We increased the number of this team to 500 and we started to call these translators “certified translators” because they went through an approval process.


  • 2020 - With the outbreak of the pandemic, we kept our physical office open until 2021, although we did not plan it before, allowing our full-time team to continue working outside the office.

  • 2021 - We announced that we would close our physical office and from now on we have switched to the remote working model with our full-time team. Additionally, we have increased our full-time team to 9 people and rearranged our in-house operations in addition to output practices in line with the remote working model.

  • 2022 - We intensified our work with 8 of the world's top 10 translation service providers announced by CSA Research. In addition to increasing our team to 13 people, we have transformed all our practices within the company into written procedures (Project Management Procedures, Recruitment Procedures, Cooperation Procedures, Spot-check Procedures, Test Translation Evaluation Procedures, etc.).

  • 2023 - We reformed our organization by strengthening the bonds between our Freelancer Team, Project Coordinators, Project Managers, and Lead Linguists. Additionally, we published HeliCo Global, where we introduced our high-quality interpreting services and eased the process of acquiring interpretation services.


In this article that we prepared for you, we wanted to explain to you the steps that we have taken since 2009. Thanks to our team, which always aims to provide error-free service at once, we are ready to do much more in the next years. In this way, we will be able to reach more people and take the services we offer to a much better level.
